Have you just attended one of our sourdough starter classes? Been baking sourdough for a while? Or just need a new sourdough starter recipe?
You are in the right place - below you will find one of the easiest cracker recipes, and in our opinion the tastiest!
Ingredients:
1 cup of flour
1 big pinch of salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup sourdough starter discard
1/2 cup dukkha mix
Creating The Magic:
Heat the oven to 180C. In a medium bowl, combine the salt, flour, olive oil and starter discard until the dough comes together. Knead a couple of times to make sure everything is combined and the dough forms a smooth ball. Divide into thirds.
Lay a piece of baking paper out and roll out one ball of dough into as big and thin a sheet as you can without tearing it. Dimensions don't really matter here: as long as itβll fit on a tray, itβs perfect. Transfer the baking paper to the tray, then brush the surface of the dough with a bit more olive oil. If you have more trays you can prepare all three cracker sheets at once, or you can bake in shifts.
Top with a sprinkling of dukkha mix and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the giant cracker is golden brown. Let it cool completely, then snap it into jagged pieces. Store the crackers in an airtight container at room temperature.
