  1. Save your potted plants and seedlings with CINNAMON

This tip is pretty simple really.
Cinnamon has antifungal properties and is also an ant and gnat deterrent.
Sprinkle your plants with ground cinnamon to prevent dampening - dampening can be caused by a variety of different plant diseases that attack a new seedling causing it to die.

2. Reuse water

Don’t pour the water from your boiled veggies down the drain!
That water has taken on nutrients from your boiled veggies - let it cool and pour over your plants.

3. Bamboo Toothbrush Plant Labels

Once you’ve finished with your bamboo toothbrush chop off the bristles (landfill) and write on the wooden handle with the name of your plant. You can put this straight into the dirt as it will eventually rot away leaving no plastic residue in your garden, unlike plastic plant labels.

4. Eggshells = Calcium

Crush eggshells and add to your compost, or even directly into your soil for plants that are often calcium deficient - plants such as tomatoes, capsicum, and lettuce.

5. Recycle & ReUse

Old bricks, tin buckets, old wheelbarrows, all of these can be used as creative flower pots or to make garden paths.
Check out your local buy nothing group or giveaway group - you can often find free plants there too.
