Eco Friendly Wedding Tips
The average wedding creates about 200 kilograms of waste + the same amoutn of carbon emssions as 4 adults make in a year.
Reduce your wedding waste and create a magical day with memories you’ll cherish forever.
Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.

Quick tips to make your wedding eco-friendly:
Use dried rose petals, cut up dried leaves, or rice instead of confetti.
Use natural fabrics for your table linen - try hemp or cotton.
Don’t use disposable cutlery, crockery, or drinkware. Hire from your nearest event store, or create a style all of your own with thrifted pieces. You can even let people take their glass home instead of bonbonniere.
Decorate with local native flowers - did you know that many cut flowers are flown or couriered from interstate creating a large carbon footprint? Use local flowers and create stunning seating, table, and reception decorations and gift the arrangements to your friends and family.
Bonbonniere, or gifts for guests do not need to be extravagant. Chocolates, lollies, or nuts in compostable bags tied with twine will be enjoyed by your guests + the packaging will completely decompose making them a zero-waste gift.
Small jars of local honey can double as a guest gift and a place name.
Choose eco-friendly invitations. Try seed paper that can be planted to grown flowers or vegetables; email your invites instead of printing; print on recycled paper.
Reduce your carbon footprint by serving local wines and spirits - reduced transport needs = more sustainable reception drinks!
Quiz your reception venue. What do they do with food waste? How do they reduce their landfill waste? Do they support local farmers and suppliers?
Choose vintage or second-hand bridal party clothing. If you can’t go past a new dress then be sure to choose an ethical and sustainable designer.
